This book was very disappointing. For starters, all three of the men in this book were selfish wimps and Kayte should never have given any of them the time of day.

The other huge problem was that this book was full of typos. Literally every other sentence had a problem with it. The typos were so bad that this book went from an OK three star book to only a two star book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were very realistic. It was a very clean romance novel. It had some twist and turns in it. The main characters had a few misunderstandings. But the ending was simple lovely. I do recommend this book. It's a great love story.
Never finish reading it. The plot made no sense it was difficult to follow. The story line was also not practical or romantic. Romance novels need not be too realistic they are for entertainment purposes not lives drama. One should feel lighter and a little less stress after reading a love story not annoyed.
The storyline was good but hard to follow much too often due to the extremely poor editing! Misspelled words, wrong words used, and word substitutions made following the plot difficult. Whomever edited this book should be fired! Too bad, since the author had a decent plot idea.
If I was a teenager, constantly interrupted and losing my place in the narrative, this would have Benn an entertaining read. However, the more mature reader hoping to delve into a sophisticated Regency Romance will find the plot repetitive, a slow slog through a story whose ending is no mystery, and indeed, quite predictable. 2 yawns and 1 smile for the inventive names.
A LADY FOR LUDOVIC is a novel in the style of Georgette Heyer with a need for a second spell check. A couple of times an extraneous word was added to a sentence which was jarring. Aside from these few mistakes, the novel read well with a nod to the language of Georgette Heyer if not Jane Austin.
The novel is basically a traditional arranged marriage story. My gripe is with the "hero." He was a no rake. He was a drunk saved by the heroine's intervention. I have the feeling she would have to keep the intervention going for the rest of their lives. I'm not sure if more exposition was needed to understand Ludovic or if more words would just make me dislike him more.
This was a cute story with a hero and heroine who were just a little different than the run-of-the mill figures in most historical romances today. Didn't think I would enjoy this book as I started to read it, but found that I really began to like the characters and become involved with them. There was a good story line with an element of mystery, and I appreciated the fact that the book had no graphic sexual content. I will definitely look for more books by Ms. McCulloch.
The story line was very good but the spelling was awful. This book needs a good proofreader in the worst way. There was one point where there were 8 errors in about as many pages. Errors like these distract the reader and throws them off their reading rhythm. I would guess that the writer used a voice writing computer program and did not have people proofread her work. I did enjoy the book and it was well written as far as the plot. The characters were very interesting, the plot while not new was very well done. Will be a good read when corrections are made.
